The heat is on in Genk

Round 3 of the IAME Benelux championship took us to Genk, the home track of F1 drivers Max Verstappen and Stoffel van Doorne.

The circuit is extremely complex with many technical turns and an abrasive surface that rewards the smooth driver. Alfie worked on his technique in tough practice sessions on Thursday and Friday.

Saturday saw us qualify P16 a steady improvement on the previous two rounds and that would put on the fourth row for the heats. Our first heat gave us a P8 but the best was to come in our second heat where a great start saw us up to P2 before tyre deterioration saw us slip back to P8. This was another promising sign getting closer to the front.

The final on Sunday was tough and Alfie raced well with the top 10 all closely battling. As the group spread itself out we were left in 10th and finished there.

A very productive weekend and now looking forward to the final round in Ostricourt, France lying 10th in the championship.
